What are the benefits from sub-contracting to Focus Support?
Focus Support offer a lower overhead cost base. Our support allows the customer to focus on higher value add business while customer product is being micro-managed.
Which technologies can Focus Support manage and support?
Focus can support all current technologies and have developed debug/test facilities for legacy equipment which can be 20+ years old. We support a range of technologies from basic "glue and screw" through electro-mechanical to full electronic assembly/test/debug and repair. Our IPC trained operators are qualified on all aspects of PTH and SMD component placement as well as very fine pitch repairs, track cuts and wire adds. Focus work with a local partner to provide BGA placement and replacement. One customer uses Force Eiger CPU (EBM65) cards using an Alpha processor housed in Flexor computer racks. These units went EOL in 2003 and can be up to fifteen years old. We currently repair cards from VME systems such as Force SYS68K which uses IBC20/1, CPU23,CPU30 and CPU50. Our VME racks allow us to tackle the two main VME rack systems - 32 and 64 bit formats.
What level of support do I need to provide to Focus?
Support required will be minimal as Focus can duplicate or develop manufacturing processes and test requirements either from customer supplied information or by reverse engineering the product.Focus Support have developed test rigs for several legacy products.
Can Focus Support manage my customers product directly?
Full details of our RMA management capabilities are detailed in the Repair Services page but Focus can provide a full returns management service direct to your customer with full status reporting to you.
Can Focus Support provide short term support at my premises?
Yes. Because Focus also provide recruitment services we have the ability to flex skilled labour between our Rosyth unit and our customer's premises. Focus can provide support for days or months, on-site or off-site depending on customer requirements.
Can Focus Support provide product support in the UK for world wide manufactured product?
Focus Support already provide a full warranty/field return service for several US and European companies. In most cases Focus have developed test solutions for these products but specialise in developing solutions for legacy product where test rigs no longer exist.
Will I get a guarantee for repair work carried out by Focus Support?
Yes. There is a standard six month component and workmanship guarantee on all Focus Support repairs. Extended warranties are also available depending on the PCBA technology. Contact our support team for more information.
Can Focus Support help me avoid the need for PCBA repair?
Yes. Focus have planned maintenance and service schemes in place with various clients. We can offer both on site and off site maintenance, for example when the equipment is portable or the PCBA's can be easily removed and transported we will carry out an agreed series of operations e.g. inspection, touch-up,clean gold contacts etc at our Repair Centre in Rosyth. Where plant is fixed or PCBA transfer is not an option, a Focus Support engineer will carry out the maintenance process on-site.
What type of equipment can Focus Support manage and maintain?
Focus Support can provide support for any equipment which is electronically controlled from welding equipment, all types of process equipment to work stations etc.. We also offer support on medical and retail (EPOS) touch screen technology. This can also be on-site support or field returns to Focus Support Repair Centre.
